Call for Abstracts - UES-EUS 2025

UES 2025 Conference on Systemic Thinking, Artificial Intelligence, and Sustainability

The UES 2025 Conference invites researchers, practitioners, and thought leaders from diverse disciplines to submit abstracts for presentations and papers. This year's conference will explore the integration of Artificial Intelligence, Systemic Theories, and Sustainability in addressing complex societal and environmental challenges.

The rapid development of AI and its pervasive influence across disciplines pose critical questions regarding its ethical, theoretical, and practical implications. At the same time, systemic thinking continues to offer a comprehensive framework for understanding and managing complexity, resilience, and transformation. The intersection of these fields creates a unique opportunity to foster innovative solutions and transdisciplinary dialogue.

Contributions that focus on the following themes are especially encouraged:

  • Systemic Thinking and AI Integration: How can systemic approaches enhance the development and governance of AI systems? What theoretical frameworks are most promising for integrating AI with systemic thinking?
  • Sustainable and Ecosocial Perspectives on AI: How can AI be employed to foster sustainability and resilience? What strategies can ensure that AI-driven innovations align with social and environmental goals?
  • Social Transformation through AI: How is AI reshaping social structures, governance, and human interactions? What are the emerging ethical challenges, and how can they be addressed?
  • Design Innovations with AI Tools: How can AI contribute to creative processes in architecture, art, and urban planning? What role does AI play in morphogenetic modeling and adaptive design?
  • Research Practices and AI-enabled Workflows: How is AI transforming academic research and data-driven decision-making? What are the implications for open science and human-machine collaboration?
  • Transdisciplinary Approaches to Complexity: How can systemic thinking and AI be combined to address multifaceted problems such as urban metabolism and socioecological impacts?
